This renovation project represents a client-focused design outcome that prioritises long-term living, comfort, and lifestyle. Originally designed by renowned architect John Mainwaring, the residence has been carefully retained in form to preserve its distinctive character. Instead of a complete rebuild, the design approach centred on refinement and adaptation—honouring the architectural legacy while ensuring the home meets the expectations of the clients lifestyle.

The interior layout was reimagined to maximise natural light, circulation, and create a greater sense of openness throughout. Living areas now capture the ocean views and feel more connected to the new outdoor space, while the revised floor plan introduces flexibility and functionality for everyday life. These subtle yet transformative changes ensure the home supports long-term liveability while retaining its original spirit.

A new landscape design strengthens the relationship between house and site, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. Outdoor spaces extend the home’s usability and create a stronger sense of connection to the coastal environment.
